Accelerated Reader
Have you heard?  Chilhowee Intermediate students will be working hard to earn AR points!  Each child will be given a goal of a certain number of points to earn for this grading period.  Students who meet or exceed their goal will be invited to a special celebration held at the end of the grading period.  We will begin working on our goals once we get back into the swing of the school year.

The Accelerated Reader theme this year is "Score with AR!".  We'll be scoring points and meeting our goals.  I can't wait to see all of our winners!

You can get involved at home by encouraging your child to bring home library books.  Set aside a reading time, then have a conversation with your child about the book.  You may even have books at home for which we have the AR test.  To find out, scroll down this page until you see the link for "List of Accelerated Reader Tests".  Click there, and you can search to find out if your book is an AR book.

Good luck everyone!

Book Talks and Read Alouds
During most library visits, I will read a book aloud or promote a high-quality book.  Often, students want to check those books out.  Unfortunately, our library does not always have enough copies to go around.  I will post the names of those books here so that you may look for them at the public library, online, or at your favorite bookstore.
